I have seen many articles that list scriptures for Christian business owners, but they rarely have practical wisdom that goes with them. Yes, scripture can speak for itself, but when we are struggling, Bible verses seem to be covered up by our stressed mind.
I want to share with you seven Bible verses with seven thoughts and seven perceptions. I know that when I’m going through a difficult time, it helps me to ‘listen’ to someone who understands what I’m going through. The Bible comes alive when someone shares it from the perspective of a Christian businessman.
Worries are like butterflies, they need to be released.
It’s easy to worry. There are so many things to think about that it can be overwhelming. Have courage … and mind. When we look at the way we try to deal with our problems, we usually leave God out of the solution. He cares about all the things you go through and is here to help when we ask Him. We must learn to surrender our concerns to God so that He can do wonderful things for us.
Philippians 4: 6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. “
Humility allows us to bring others into our struggles.
Sometimes, when we are caught in difficult times, we try to assume everything on our own. We must learn to delegate and let others help us. We must bring others to pray for us and with us. We are leaders in our business, but more than that, we are part of a community of faith. God wants us to help ourselves with our anxieties and He may have put people in his life to do just that. We must remember that God takes care of us.
1 Peter 5: 6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
Our reaction to our struggles defines our success.
We don’t like to go through difficult times, but when we do, our reaction to those difficult times can make or break us. When we redefine our struggles in light of what God is doing and has done in our lives, we find the power of God at work even in difficult times.
James 1: 2-4 “Consider pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of various kinds, because you know that the test of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish your work so that you can be mature and complete , not without anything. “
Perspectives help us to define our problems.
When we go through difficult times, we are caught thinking about all the bad things that can happen. I have an elderly woman in my church saying to me, “Stop sowing worries.” If you look at your problems in light of all the things that others are going through, your problems can seem much less. All over the world, people are starving, beheaded for their faith and their homes are being destroyed by bombs. How is your problem compared to those?
Psalm 46: 1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth gives way and the mountains fall in the heart of the sea, although its waters roar and foam and the mountains tremble and ripple. “
We can praise God even in difficult times.
David went through some horrible trials. Your boss tried to kill you. His best friends betrayed him. Their children killed themselves. Yet, in the midst of all these things, he always set aside time to worship. He looked to God for good and bad. There are so many Psalms that start by talking about how bad things are, but end up turning their attention to praising God for everything he has.
Psalm 37: 3-6 “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy a safe pasture. Delight in the Lord and he will fulfill your heart’s desires. Commit your way to the Lord; trust him and he do it; He will make his justice shine like dawn, the justice of his cause like the midday sun. “
The trump cards of the stock worry almost every time.
Worry is what happens when we are not acting. Christian entrepreneurs are people of action. Instead of worrying about the things you can’t change, take action on the things you can. The action will lead to better results than thinking and worrying about your struggles. Take time to write down your problems, get them out of your head and plan a strategy for taking care of business.
Matthew 6: 25-27 “So I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or your body, what you will wear. Life is not more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds in the air; they do not sow, harvest or store in barns, but their heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you much more valuable than they are? , can you add a single hour to his life? “
You have a purpose
If there is one thing that you will see repeatedly on this web page, it is the fact that you have a purpose. Are you christian. You were created to be an entrepreneur. God has placed in your life the desire to help others and you are a Christian entrepreneur who can make a difference in the world. Go and do what God has called you to do.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, of those who have been called according to his purpose.”
